also known as sesquippedaliophobia, is the fear of long words.

Some people believe that “hippopoto” means “giant”, but it doesn’t, the actual word comes from the greek hippopotamos, that stands for “river horse”, it was placed in the word to make it longer, as well as the latin steam “monstr” (as in monstrosus).

Maybe they did it because this way by saying the name of your phobia a lot of times you will be eventually cured of it. =D
